The sky was clear and blue, though the fear was lurking for a downpour as was the weather forecast.

The campus looked joyful as everyone looked anxiously for the Annual Sports 2018-19. The arena was ready with the markings, colourful flags, the sports torch stand and everything else was get set ready go. Athletes stood according to their squads. The band troupe with their colourful plumed cap and formal attire were ready to escort the Chief Guest and the dignitaries to the dais. The school choir invoked God’s blessings with a prayer song. The Principal Rev.Fr. Mahesh D’souza welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries were accorded a floral welcome. The Chief Guest of the day Dr Mohan Alva, Managing Director of Alva’s Education Foundation Moodbidri. The Correspondent Very Rev. Fr Denis Alexander D’sa unfurled the Sports flag. The Chief Guest and the Correspondent took the Guard of Honour as the 8 squad with their athlete marched smartly synchronizing with the rhythm and beats of the Band Group. An individual’s in the same way the Hallmark of discipline was displayed through an eye catching mass drill. The athlete of State and District carried the flame to light the torch and Cimona lit the fire for the Olympic torch. The Chief Guest Dr. Mohan Alva declared the Sport Meet 2018-19 open and an artistic thermo coal artwork was released along with the balloons of the Tri Colour flag. The Principal introduced the Chief Guest and the dignitaries on the dais joined to felicitate Dr. Mohan Alva.

In his message Dr.Mohan Alva appreciated the discipline and well organized programme. He said that Don Bosco has carved a name in Udupi District as a great institution. The 4 main points he stressed on the importance of Sports was Health, Harmony, Right Attitude and Medals. Life is a competition, not pride. May God bless this institution to reach greater height.

Priston Gomes, the Sports Secretary along with the squad leaders took the sacred oath of the Sports Meet. The Chief Guest and dignitaries were introduced to the squad.

The Correspondent appreciated the systematic and well disciplined programme. He told the students, don’t quit, but complete the race, accept the decision gracefully, help each other, and don’t make fun of those who lost. The most spectacular event of the Sports Meet is the Relay where the team work and right co-ordination of the runner is seen. May you be blest to build a wonderful society and a beautiful Harmonious India?
