The much dreaded dawn broke forth, the 2nd of April 2018. It was a sad, gloomy day as the students, staff along with the guests gathered to wish goodbye to Mrs Emilia Santos who after rendering 28 years of teaching the U.K.G was retiring. The programme started with a prayer song by the students of Class 9th. Mrs.Irine Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. The scroll of honour was read by Mrs.Cecilia Lewis followed by the Felicitation by the dignitaries on the dias. Liona Aranha Class IV, Jovisha Menezes class VII and Sabha of class IX spoke about their memories and gratefulness towards their teacher. Mrs.Shayona D Almeida, teacher of KG expressed her experience of working with Emilia teacher. The Correspondent Very Rev. Fr.Stany Tauro and the Principal Rev.Fr. Mahesh D Souza expressed their appreciation, gratitude and wished her a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful Retired Life. As a token of love and remembrance a gold ring was presented to her. Students offered a basket of flowers. Her son Rayan spoke about the influence of his mother on his life and thanked her. Emilia Teacher’s husband Richard and his sister Gretta with her family joined the happiness of the occassion. The dignitories on the dias were Correspondent Very Rev Fr. Stany Tauro, Vice President and Secretary of Parish Council Mr.Wilson D Souza and Leena Machado, members of the Managing Committee, Principal of St.Mary’s College Prof Rajan, Headmistress of Kannada Medium Mrs.Pauline Lobo. The students of class VIII sang a farewell song. The Vote Of Thanks was proposed by Mrs Irine Cardoza and Mrs.Cynthia Periera anchored the programme.
