It is said that the children are the World’s most valuable resources and are best hope for the future”. On the auspicious day of their celebration, enthusiastic children with pure heart, angelic smiles, joyous laughter and chattering kids filled the surrounding of Don Bosco English Medium School on early morning on the 14th of November 2017.
Ms. Gretta Noronha accorded a warm welcome to all the staff and students gathered. The teachers of school led the Prayer Service starting with a hymn followed by spiritual reading and prayer of the faithful. A beautiful dance and a skit was performed by the primary students.
In his message to the students Rev. Fr. Mahesh D’Souza, Principal recollected his childhood days and wished he could go back to his childhood. Being a child is a wonderful thing and the period spent during childhood will be a most memorable one and always be cherished in our lives, he said. He further stated that we should be. always like children, innocent, loving, happy and a good human being.
Miss Jane Mendonca proposed the vote of thanks and Miss Renu D Souza compeered the program wonderfully.
On the occasion an awareness program on cycling and Bicycle maintenance was organized by the Rotary Club and the members of The Bike Farm, Udupi. Dr.Gururaj Bhat stressed on the benefits of cycling which is a pollution free vehicle, Bicycle keeps physically fit the one who rides it, It is much safer to ride rather than two wheelers such as scooter or motor bikes which often causes major accidents due to speed Mr Allen Lewis narrated on the maintenance of a bicycle to the senior students and was demonstrated by a professional technician. Some of the safety measures stressed on during the demonstration were, to follow safety measures such as wearing helmets, afety shoes and regular checking of the brakes. Students interacted with Mr. Allen Lewis on maintenance of the bicycles.
On this special occasion, Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro (Correspondent) wished the children on the occasion of Children’s Day and shared his memory of riding bicycle during his younger days.. Miss Adlin Lewis also interacted with the students. Mementos were presented to all the members of the Bike Farm by the Principal. All the children spent a most memorable day on the occasion of Children’s Day.
