Fr Lawrence Gomes’s Condolence Meet

Beautiful memories gratefully treasured

“Don’t shed a tear
I’m with the Lord
I kept the faith
My spirit is light
I am at peace now
I fought the good fight”

A pall of gloom spread over the sprawling campus of Don Bosco English Medium School at the demise of our beloved former Correspondent Very Rev. Fr Lawrence Gomes. A condolence assembly was held on 24th July 2017, to pay tribute to the departed soul.

Mrs. Cecilia Lewis brought back fresh memories of Fr Lawrence when he served as the Correspondent from 1994 to 2001. The Correspondent Very Rev. Fr Stany Tauro spoke about the noble qualities like discipline, punctuality, holiness, cleanliness of Fr Lawrence and placed a wreath as a sign of respect and gratitude. Senior teachers Mrs. Irene Rodrigues and Mrs. Gretta Noronha offered a garland. Two students of class 1st, SPL and ASPL of both the section, senior clerical staff Mrs. Veronica Dias and non-teaching Mr. Michael Mackwan too offered wreaths. All the staff members offered floral tribute. The Principal thanked the Correspondent, staff and students for participating in the condolence meet. He further emphasised that we can keep alive Fr Lawrence’s memories by following his principles of Discipline and Silence.
