“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals”
The morning of 10th January 2020 was a bit cloudy and gloomy around the campus, but the Don Bosco English School showed some eagerness and joy to celebrate its Prize Distribution Day in a simple modest way. Curiosity and a sense of pride in the air to have an alumnus as the Chief Guest of the day. He is the newly ordained Jesuit priest, Fr. Nelson Glen of Jamshedpur province, on 29th December 2019. The program began with a prayer song by the school choir after which the Chief Guest, Correspondent and the Principal move toward the dais. Avis of class7 welcomed the gathering. Mrs Philomena Barboza, Headteacher of Middle school introduced Fr. Nelson Castelino. The Correspondent, Principal and the teachers who taught Fr. Nelson joined in to felicitate him with a shawl, garland, fruit basket, scroll of honour and a memento. The Principal Miss. Myrtle Lewis said a few words to felicitate and bless Fr. Nelson. In his inspiring message, Fr. Nelson thanked all the teachers who taught him and also remembered that he was a silent, shy student. He advised the students to have a strong conviction as what you want to become, what we do is what we become in the future. He said that he follows his inner voice and remembers what his father told him, whenever you want to go – go but don’t turn back “To keep a goal in life.
The Correspondent paid his homage to Rev.Fr.Mahesh D’Souza and said we have to take up from where he left. He thanked the Principal Miss. Myrtle Lewis who agreed to carry the baton putting in mind the future of the students and especially the first batch of class X under CBSE Board. He stressed on 3 words –Felicitation which ignites inspiration and helps for motivation, congratulated all the students who won the prizes and those who did not win, not to give up but to have hope. The world accused you, but you follow your consciences. Wished the 1st batch of class 10 all the Best for the Board examination. Prizes were given to the winners from Lower K.G to class 7 by the Correspondent Rev. Fr.Dennis D’sa, Fr. Nelson Castelino and the Principal Miss. Myrtle Lewis
Haneena of class 7 proposed the vote of thanks. Renish Gomes and Prajna of class 7 compered the programme.
There was a short cultural programme by KG section, Primary and Middle school.
