26th of January is a gala day for every Indian. It was celebrated with great pomp and show. The students assembled on the ground by 9:00 am . The Chief Guest, the Correspondent and the guests were ushered by the School Band. The school choir invoked God’s blessing with a prayer song. Iona Mathias welcomed the gathering.
The Correspondent along with the Chief Guest hoisted the national flag. The campus was thrilled to the robotic aerobic display of the students which was marvellous. The Chief Guest of the day Lion V.G Shetty MJF the second Vice District Governor was felicitated by the Correspondent and the dignitaries on the dais. He was introduced by Mrs Joyce Menezes. Neil Lobo enlightened the gathering on the significance of the day. The Chief Guest in his message told the students that they are fortunate to get all the latest facilities in education as well as extra – curricular activities. There are lot of opportunities, but at the same time lot of tough competition. Never expect defeat or failure, set a definite goal and achieve it. The line of success is very narrow, but keeps on trying, using your talents, enrich your heart with love, kindness and compassion. In his Presidential message the Correspondent congratulated the students for the fantastic aerobic display which was full of life and zeal .He also congratulated the 25 guides’ troop who is representing the school for the Republic Day Parade at Udupi. He said he has dream that one day some of the students will represent the Republic Day. On this occasion the Physical Trainer Mr. Vishwanath, Miss Rashmi and Miss Pooja Udupa were honoured with a memento.
The 70th Republic Day was a memorable one as a troop of 25 girls Guides represented the Udupi District Republic Day Parade at Ajjarkade Udupi along with Mr. Umesh. After the stage programme a short cultural programme by Don Bosco English Medium and Kannada Medium students were performed. Anav M. Rai expressed wards of gratitude and Anora Gomes compered the programme efficiently.
