National Science Day is celebrated on the 28th of February but due to a tragedy in the school the day was celebrated on 3rd March 2018 by the Sanjeevani Eco Club. The Chief Guest of the day Dr. Dheeraj Fernandes, a alumni, Principal Rev. Fr. Mahesh D’ Souza Co-ordinator Mrs Irine Cardoza and the SPL were escorted by Miss Irol Nazareth to the stage, she also welcomed the Guest and the gathering. Nicola Rodrigues read the Annual Report of the Eco Club. Sabha spoke on National Science Day and about C.V Raman and his Raman Effect. Various competitions were conducted by the Eco Club; the winners were honoured with prizes from the Chief Guest.
In his message Dr. Dheeraj told the theme of National Science Day for 2018 is ‘Science and Technology for a sustainable future.’ He said that in the world 30% is used in a productive way and 70% for destruction. It is up to us to distinguish between good and bad that is the use and misuse of science. Today man is experiencing imbalance in nature and environment which is because of his own action. Understand nature. He said that, he is proud to be a student of Don Bosco as it is not only an institution but a BRAND. As a token of our love the Principal handed Dr. Dheeraj a memento. Rev. Fr greeted on the occasion of National Science Day and asked a question on what is Raman Effect. Rikita and Jason answered the question. The Eco-Club members performed a skit on the use and misuse of mobile phone.
Rishal D’Mello proposed the Vote of Thanks and Elisha D’Souza compered the programme.
