Teachers’ Empowerment Programme – 2017

Don Bosco School Shirva successfully holds Teacher Empowerment Programme By Ms. Cicilia Lewis

Shirva: 07 Oct 2017; Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva successfully held recently a half day training session for CBSC Syllabus School conducted by.Mrs Manjula Devi, a well known resource person based in Bangalore and also an advisor for CBSE Schools of the state. Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro (Correspondence) also was present on the occasion. Rev.Fr Mahesh D’ Souza (Principal) accorded a warm welcome to Fr. Stany Tauro, Mrs Manjula Devi and the staff.

Speaking on the occasion Fr. Stany Tauro appreciated Ms. Manjula Devi for her co-operation and advice right from the time the Management had decided to shift the education system of the school from State syllabus to CBSE syllabus. He said that she had also addressed the Heads of the Campus institution and the Management Committee for the need of a CBSE school. Fr. Tauro was very grateful for her for her initiative and co-operation on this issue and at the same time expected the same co-operation and guidance in the future as well. While addressing the staff Fr. Tauro said that if we just want a name board as CBSE syllabus then the task is not difficult, but if we want a board with real good results then hard work, extra efforts are needed to achieve that target and it is not easy.

He compared the teacher to a library and a real resource person for the student. A school’s name may shine due or fade away due to the teachers, so it is in your hands. He stressed that a teacher has to see to the all round development of the students. He appreciated and expressed his gratitude to Fr. Mahesh D’Souza for his tireless work for the progress and putting in place all the infra structure that needed for the school.

In response Fr. Mahesh thanked Fr. Stany Tauro for his presence, guidance and the motivational message given to all the staff on the occasion.

The topic discussed during the session by Mrs Manjula Devi was “The evaluation of the first term activities and suggestion to implement certain changes in setting up of the CBSE Syllabus School”. There was an interaction session wherein the staff raised a few questions . Ms. Manjula cleared all the doubts they had. Some of the points discussed during the session were Lesson Plan, Daily Diary, Progress Card, Subject Enrichment Activity, Extra Curricular Activities, forming and running of Clubs such as Scouts and Guides and maintaining up to date records for all these activities.

Mrs. Manjula Devi truly appreciated the teacher’s full involvement and interaction who had shown their keenness for imparting the best to the school and the student Community at large.

On conclusion, Fr. Mahesh thanked Mrs Manjula Devi for her presence and her constant support, guidance and encouragement all the time and also expected her support in future too.. He also thanked all the teachers for attending and taking keen participation during the session.
