Inauguration Ceremony of the Annual Sports Meet
The much-awaited Annual Sports Meet 2025 of Don Bosco English Medium School was held on 17th and 18th of October, 2025 with great enthusiasm and excitement on the school grounds. The event was inaugurated by one of our distinguished alumni and a successful start-up businessman, Mr. Franklin Glenn Menezes, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Mr. Franklin Glenn Menezes received the Guard of Honour presented by the four school houses- Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, both girls’ and boys’ contingents displaying perfect coordination and discipline. Following this, the school flag was hoisted and the Olympic torch was lit, marking the commencement of the day’s sporting events. The students showcased their dedication and unity through a splendid march past, which was a visual delight for everyone present.
In his inspiring address, Mr. Franklin Glenn Menezes urged the students to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and integrity – the core virtues of sports.
The School Correspondent, Very Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford Dsouza, officially inaugurated the Sports Meet and also motivated the young athletes with his encouraging words, reminding them that participation and effort are as valuable as victory.
The program was graced by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Rolwyn Joy Aranha, Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Roshan D’souza and Rev Fr. Anil D’mello, Vice Principal, Mrs. Irene Cardoza, PTA President, Mrs. Priya D’souza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Melwyn Aranha, members of the teaching and non-teaching faculty, parents, and students and who all gathered to witness and celebrate the sporting spirit of the school community.
Mrs. Savitha Shettigar efficiently anchored the inaugural program, maintaining a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout. Mrs. Irene Cardoza extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, and attendees, while Mrs. Lidwin Mathias proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the event a grand success.
The inauguration concluded with great cheer and anticipation for the athletic events that followed, setting the tone for a day filled with energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Valedictory Function of the Annual Sports Meet
The valedictory programme of the Annual Sports Meet was held on the 18th October, 2025. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Roshan D’Souza, who congratulated the students for participating in all the events with enthusiasm and a healthy competitive spirit.
The Correspondent, Very Rev Dr Leslie Clifford D’Souza, appreciated all the teachers who served as sports officials for conducting the events smoothly and efficiently. He also thanked the Almighty for guiding and blessing everyone throughout the sports meet.

In the final results, Yellow House emerged as the champions in both the boys’ and girls’ categories. Blue House secured the second place, while Red House stood third in the boys’ section and Green House secured the third position in the girls’ section.
Mrs. Neeta Castelino compered the programme, Mrs. Irine Cardoza welcomed the guests and Mrs. Joyce Menezes proposed the vote of thanks.
The event concluded successfully, reflecting the school’s commitment to fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among students.
