Grandparents Day Celebration

To honor the valuable presence of grandparents in their lives, the students of Don Bosco Playschool and Kindergarten celebrated Grandparents’ Day on August 29th, 2025. The event began with a delightful prayer song sung by the students of UKG, followed by their cheerful welcome address to the gathering. The Principal Rev. Fr. Rolwyn Joy Aranha introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. In his address, the Chief Guest Mr. Manohar Shetty – a philanthropist and a Businessman, emphasized that life becomes truly meaningful when, along with striving for our own betterment we also wish goodness for others. He called upon the young children to always regard their parents as the best and as they grow and succeed in the future; to never forget their Alma mater and parents, whose sacrifices laid the foundation to their progress. In his speech, the Correspondent emphasized that grandparents’ role goes beyond pampering. He encouraged them to gently correct their grandchildren when they go wrong and to instil in them the values of life. He added that when the school, home, parents and grandparents work together, they truly transform a child’s overall personality. The celebration came alive with the tiny tots presenting a variety of cultural performances which brought smiles and joy to the grandparents. Their performances reflected love, respect and gratitude to the elders. The program concluded with the students of UKG proposing the Vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt appreciation to the guests and grandparents. The celebration was a touching tribute, recognizing grandparents as pillars of wisdom, affection and guidance in shaping the lives of children. The program was anchored by Zahra Mariyam and Lenin Fernandes.
