Children’s Day Celebration

Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva, in the presence of Correspondent, Very Rev. Dr Leslie Clifford Dsouza and Principal, Rev. Fr Rolwyn Joy Aranha, joyfully celebrated Children’s Day on 14th November 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, who was fondly known as Chacha Nehru for his deep love and affection towards children.
The celebration began with a short assembly conducted by the teachers. The programme commenced with a prayer song invoking God’s blessings, followed by a welcome address that set a cheerful tone for the day. The importance of the day was highlighted through a brief talk, reminding everyone about Chacha Nehru’s vision for children as the nation’s true strength and future.
A special highlight of the day was the cultural programme presented by the teachers. The teachers showcased their hidden talents through a variety of performances such as songs, skits, dances, and musical presentations, which filled the students with laughter and joy.
Our Correspondent, Very Rev. Dr Leslie Clifford Dsouza conveyed his heartfelt wishes to all the students and encouraged them to live joyfully, love deeply and laugh freely. Their inspiring words made the celebration even more meaningful.
The programme was compered by Mrs. Philomena Barboza and concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Felcy Mascarenhas, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making the event a memorable one. The rest of the day was filled with fun games and activities planned especially for the students.
The Children’s Day celebration was truly a delightful and heartwarming event that reflected love, joy, and togetherness — a day where teachers expressed their affection for their students and celebrated the spirit of childhood.
