Parent Orientation Program by Kreedo Team to the Parents of Kindergarten
The Kindergarten section of Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva organised a Parent Orientation Program (POP) on 9 September, conducted by the Kreedo team, to help parents gain a deeper understanding of the Kreedo methodology and their children’s learning journey in the Kindergarten.
The session provided parents with valuable insights into the philosophy of activity-based and experiential learning, which forms an integral part of the Kreedo Lab implementation at the school. The Training Specialists Ms. Nabila Mohammad R., Mrs. Nisha V. and Mrs. Varsha explained how young children learn naturally through exploration, observation, interaction and hands-on experiences, rather than through rote memorisation. The Kreedo team demonstrated selected materials and activities, enabling parents to understand what their children experience in the Lab and the specific learning objectives associated with each activity. The session also highlighted the importance of allowing children to learn at their own pace and providing them with adequate time and opportunities to explore and understand concepts. Parents were guided on how they could support their children at home through simple, meaningful interactions and experiences while allowing them the freedom to explore, question and learn independently. Addressing the parents, Principal Rev. Fr. Rolwyn Joy Aranha expressed his gratitude to the Kreedo team for conducting the orientation and providing parents with a clear understanding of the Kreedo methodology and the learning experiences offered to the children. He emphasised that children learn best by observing their parents. Therefore, parents themselves need to consciously reduce their screen time and cultivate the habit of reading. By being active readers and setting a positive example, parents can naturally inspire their children to develop a lasting love for books and learning.
Overall, the Parent Orientation Program was an enriching and informative session that helped parents understand the purpose, methodology and benefits of the Kreedo Lab implementation.
