Parent Orientation Program for Kindergarten Parents for the Academic Year 2026–27:

Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva, organized a Parent Orientation Program for the parents of newly admitted Kindergarten students on June 2, 2026 to familiarize them with the school’s vision, curriculum and expectations for the academic year 2026–27. The program commenced on a prayerful note with an invocation song, seeking God’s blessings upon the children, parents and educators. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge, wisdom and enlightenment.

The Correspondent V. Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, addressed the gathering and emphasized the vital role of parents in a child’s holistic development. He encouraged parents to cultivate a habit of reading by spending quality time reading books with their children. Highlighting the growing dependence of the present generation on gadgets, he stressed the importance of nurturing a love for reading from an early age. He further reminded parents that children grow and learn best through love, guidance, correction and the positive examples set by adults. The Principal then briefed the parents on the norms, regulations and expectations of the school, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a strong partnership between home and school to ensure the overall growth and well-being of every child.

Mrs. Shyona Dalmeida, presented an overview of the curriculum and the various academic and co-curricular activities planned for the academic year 2026–27. The program began with a warm welcome address delivered by Mrs. Renita Dsouza and was efficiently compered by Mrs. Teena Mascarenhas, who guided the proceedings smoothly. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Jyothi Lobo. The orientation program served as a valuable platform for fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between parents and the school, laying a strong foundation for a successful and enriching educational journey for the young learners.
