KG Grandparents Day Celebration

The history of our grandparents is remembered not with rose petals but in the laughter. It is unto us that the lives of grandparents have gone. It is in us that their history becomes a future.

The 12th of September the school witnessed special guests coming towards the school building. Some indeed were struggling with great difficulties to walk. Some special celebration in the school. It was Grandparents Day of our tiny tots.

The joy that was gleaming in the eyes of both the grandparents and grand kids was indescribable. The Programme began by invoking God’s blessing through a prayer song sung by the tiny tots. Genelia DAlmeida welcomed all gathered in the hall. The Principal Fr. Mahesh DSouza introduced the Chief Guest Mrs. Emilia Santos, retired teacher of the K.G. Section. In her message she urged them to upgrade themselves to the present situation and the mentality of the child. Little ones follow their grandparents more than the parents. They are your footsteps for the future generation. The Correspondent Very. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa called all the little ones to the stage, sat with them and dedicated a beautiful song to the grandparents on behalf of the children. The audience were mesmerized by this touching gesture. His appeal to the grandparents was not to build walls but rather a bridge which is connected with great values like love, compassion, kindness. He expressed his appreciation towards the Principal, Teachers and the janitors for the exceptional care and guidance they render to the development and moulding of every child entrusted to them. The Chief Guest was honoured by the Correspondent, Principal and teachers. Meora Gomes of U.K.G conveyed her memorable, beautiful thoughts and moments with her grandparents. A short cultural programme of eight dances by the little ones was performed. To enhance the joy and happiness of the grandparents, Rev. Fr. Mahesh D Souza conducted some spot games. Ethan Corda expressed his words of gratitude. Adriel Soans and Alriya Saldanha compered the programme very beautifully.
