TEACHERS’ DAY 2018

A teachers’ purpose is not to create students in his own image , but to develop students who can create their own image.
The arrival of September brings back memories of school days andteachers. Students and teachers each year wants to make it a memorable celebration. On 5th September, students were gathering around the teachers near the entrance to wish them ‘A Happy Teachers Day’. The programme started with a hymn by the school choir,prayer service led by Diya Castelino and Anusha Quadras welcomed the gathering.
The personality to initiate the celebration of Teachers Day was Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. Eden D’souza spoke about Dr. Radhakrishnan and the significance of the day Principal Rev.Fr. Mahesh D’souza, Vice Principal, Heads of different sections, SPL and ASPL paid their homage to the portrait of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan and St. Mother Teresa by offering flowers. Students melodiously sang the felicitation song.
In his message for the day the Principal asked the students to point out some features and speciality of the school. He called all the teachers in the front and wished them. Principal asked the students to put into practise two things:
1) To ban plastic in the school and campus
2) daily to seek their parents blessings before leaving for school.
Three students demonstrated as to how they seek blessings in their religion. A demo on waste management was shown and explained by Mrs. Irine Cardoza and Mrs. Priya Dimple Martis. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mohammed Afeez, Vinyas beautifully compered the programme.
