Adieu to Mrs Irene Rodrigues

“Blessed by God for 38 years to motivate, care and sinpire.”On the auspicious day of 16th April 2021 filled with the blended emotions reverting to the thoughts of old memories and feeling of gratefulness to the Lord for having blessed us with the special moment the school staff along with the Principal, Correspondent, Guests and Alumni gathered to bid adieu to Mrs Irene Rodrigues who rendered 38 years of dedicated and fruitful service in Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva.
The program was inaugurated by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer hymn by the staff choir group. Mrs Cynthia Pereira compeered the program meticulously.
Miss Myrtle L F Lewis, the Principal,addressed and welcomed the gathering. MrsSheethal D’Souza, an alumnus of the school,conveyed her sentiments and appreciated MrsIrene Rodrigues for her commitment, sensitive and passionate love for her students for the values she had instilled in them like patience, kindness,hardwork, etc. The Alumnus also accentuated the, dedication and determination which helped her to excel in her profession.
Mrs. Gretta Noronha, on behalf of the school staff, shared herassociation with Mrs Irene Rodrigues, acknowledged her simplicity, sincerity, honesty, dedication and the ocean of patience forbearance she was. The citation was read by Mrs. Philomena Barboza. Her service was confessed through felicitation. Rev Fr Alban Rodrigues, Administrator of St Antony’s Ashram, Jeppu, cousin of Mrs Irene Rodrigues complemented and appreciated her for concluding a prolonged tenure of 38 years of success.
Mrs Irene Rodrigues expressed her experiences in the journey she had witnessed in thepast 38 years. She lauded all the Correspondent who she came across in her journey of helping the school to its present glory. She also wished the present Principal Miss Myrtle LF Lewis to lead the school into new heights. The Correspondent Very Rev Fr Denis D’Sa thanked Mrs Irene Rodrigues for the relentless commitment and devoted service of 38 years. He blessed her with a hymn of blessings-May the good God bless and keep you, and expressed good thoughts towards her life to the future.
Mrs Irene Cardoza proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs Cynthia Pereira compeered the programme meticulously. The programmeconcluded with an aurafull of togetherness and a slight pain of parting making it to all present. Programme concluded with a humble fellowship meal.
