Fit India Cyclothon 2020

Cycling is one of the best ways to remain fit and healthy. It is the new craze that combines fitness with fun and allows us to maintain social distancing.
As per the guidelines of Fit India Mission 2020, Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva, had organized “Fit India Cyclothon” on 18th December, 2020 to create awareness on fitness, through cycling. At 9:00 a.m. under the guidance of Physical Directors of the school Mr. Sujith Shetty and Mr. Vishwanath K, the event began with a short prayer with the presence of 40 students. Very Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Correspondent of the school, Rev. Fr. Rohan Dias, Assistant Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church and alumni of the school Capt. Joshua Rodrigues, First Officer in the Merchandile Navals, Ms Myrtle L F Lewis, Principal and the staff of Don Bosco gathered at the church premises to witness the event.
Capt. Joshua Rodrigues gave the inaugural start to the event by waving Fit India Flag. The students, along with the Staff members and the Correspondent went cycling up to Sangeetha Complex, covering 2 kms of distance with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Students were welcomed back to the school and served with refreshments. With the guidance of Physical Education Directors of the school the event was executed smoothly and successfully.
