Kindergarten Parents Orientation

It takes a big heart to help our Tiny-Tots to take Giant leap.”

The orientation for the Kindergarten parents was held on 24th July, 2021 in the school premises.

The school principal Miss Myrtle L. F. Lewis, the vice principal Mrs. Irine Cardoza, Fr. Rolwyn Joy Aranha, the co-ordinator of the senior-secondary section, Mrs. Cynthia Pereira the co-ordinator of the higher-primary section, Mrs. Shyona D’Almeida, the co-ordinator of the Pre-Primary section and all the teaching staff of Kindergarten and the Primary section were present during the orientation. Mrs. Deepa Bhandary was the chief guest of the day.Mrs. Bhandaryhas served in the field of education since more than 35 years and has interacted with students from Kindergarten to High School. She served as the vice principal of St. Mary’s English Medium School, Udupi with her dedicated service for 29 years.

The programme began with invoking blessings from God followed by a welcome speech by Mrs. Teena Mascarenhas.

The Kindergarten teachers introduced themselves and gave information regarding the subjects they teach.

The curriculum for the current year was well presented by Mrs. Shyona D’Almeida, the co-ordinator of the Pre-Primary section, she explained in details the curriculum plan with the help of a PowerPoint presentation. She briefly highlighted the skills that need to be developed and the various activities which would be conducted month-wise in the present academic year. She shared the pictures and videos of how the activities were conducted in the previous academic year and also how the various classes are conducted online. Mrs. Deena Amathi introduced the chief guest, Mrs. Deepa Bhandari to the audience.

Mrs. Deepa Bhandari, in her orientation speech, appreciated the well-planned activities for the current academic year which will bring about great development, fun and joy in the learning process for the little ones. She also spoke about the effects of the pandemic on the students, parents and teachers. She highlighted the ways in which anxiety in the children can be handled properly through recreation, presence of the parents, importance of schedule, hygiene, healthy diet, exercise and cutting down of screen time.

She also briefed about how parents can handle misbehavior from the kids by being patient, calm and trying to understand their children. She also requested the parents to give quality time to their kids.

Miss Myrtle L. F. Lewis, in her speech congratulated the teachers for their immense hard work. She also briefed the parents about the rules and norms of the school and also requested them to support the school at this hour of crisis. She advised that students should be well groomed while attending the classes and should avoid junk food. She said that the teachers are doing their best to provide the best learning to the students.
