Vanamahotsava Celebration in Don Bosco kindergarten– Nurturing Young Hearts for a Greener Tomorrow
To instil in the tiny tots the importance of protecting nature and developing a lifelong love for trees and the environment, the Kindergarten Section of Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva, celebrated Vanamahotsava on July 3rd, 2026 with great enthusiasm and a sense of environmental responsibility.
The program commenced with a prayer, invoking God’s blessings for Mother Earth and all living beings. The young learners then confidently spoke about the significance of Vanamahotsava, highlighting the vital role trees play in sustaining life and preserving ecological balance. Adding colour and meaning to the celebration, the children presented a delightful skit and lively dance performances carrying powerful messages on tree plantation and the need to protect our green surroundings. The Principal Rev.Fr. Rolwyn Joy Arnaha graced the occasion as the Guest of the Day. Addressing the little ones, he encouraged the children to become young ambassadors of nature by planting and nurturing more trees for a safe and sustainable future. He emphasized that trees are essential for bringing timely rainfall. Referring to the reduced rainfall experienced this year, he led the children in a heartfelt prayer, seeking God’s blessing for abundant rain and a greener, healthier world. As a mark of commitment towards environmental conservation, a symbolic sapling plantation ceremony was carried out by the Principal, creating awareness among the tiny tots about the importance of tree plantation and inspiring them to become responsible caretakers of nature.
The Vanamahotsava celebration concluded on a joyful and meaningful note, leaving the children inspired to cherish, protect and nurture the environment.
