Secondary and Senior Secondary Annual Day

The Annual Day celebration for classes 6 to 10 &12 of Don Bosco English Medium School was held with great enthusiasm on Thursday, November 28, on the school grounds. The event showcased a vibrant medley of cultural performances, celebrating the unity of diverse cultures across the country.
The programme commenced with a melodious prayer song by school choir. College Pupil Leader Miss Sharon Corda delivered the welcome address. The chief guest for the event was Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes, Correspondent of St. Mary’s Institutions, Udupi. Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford D’Souza, Correspondent of Don Bosco & St Mary’s Institutions, Shirva, presided over the function. Other dignitaries present included Principal Rev. Fr Rolwyn Joy Aranha, vice principal Mrs. Irine Cardoza, Assistant parish priest of Shirva parish Rev.Fr Ronson Pinto, PTA President Sowmya R, SPL Varsha R. and CPL Sharon Corda.
Vian Noronha introduced the chief guest, Principal Fr Rolwyn Joy Aranha presented the annual report for the academic year 2024-25, highlighting the school’s achievements. The Yearbook 2023-24 was released by the chief guest, Very Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes. He felicitated the students who are excelled in academic and sports events by distributing prizes and certificates. SPL Miss Varsha R proposed the vote of thanks.
In his address, chief guest Fr. Charles Menezes expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the celebration and applauded the school’s role in nurturing students. He urged parents to share their life experiences and the hardships they have endured, encouraging their children to appreciate these lessons and build a resilient society. He emphasized the importance of imparting positive values that inspire growth and excellence in life. He emphasized the importance of fostering a positive mindset among students.
Rev. Dr Leslie Cliford D’Souza, in his presidential address, commended the students and staff for their efforts. He remarked that Don Bosco School stands out as a “happy school” due to the principal’s leadership, the dedication of the staff, and the collaboration among teachers, students, and parents. He highlighted that education should instill values and life skills in students, enabling them to grow in harmony with their natural environment. Education, he remarked, is not merely the dissemination of knowledge but the development of skills to navigate challenges and risks effectively. He called upon parents to collaborate with the staff and management in making Don Bosco School an extraordinary institution.
Cultural extravaganza
The cultural programme commenced with students presenting colorful and engaging performances, portraying the diversity of the country.
Students of grade 6 Presented a beautiful dance on the theme, weaving dreams together. They highlighted the rich traditions and vibrant cultures of our country.
Grade 7 students depicted the role of girl child in our society through ‘Fighting Shadows, A Girl’s Tale’
Grade 8 students showcased rich history, tradition, culture, and folklores of different states of our country.
Grade 9 students presented the diverse traditions and captivating spirit of our Tulunadu.
Grade 10 students beautifully portrayed the land’s unique wildlife, vibrant cities, and rich cultural heritage through dance performance. They presented the Lokada Khalagi, Mahabharatha and African Jungle Dance.
Grade 12 students presented the ‘Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Human Being.’
Highschool students showcased their theatrical prowess with an impressive adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
The stage programme was hosted by Rhea Winona and Adith of grade 12. while the cultural segment was compered by Ayesha Haaniya Assadi, Anna Ameena, Merelyn Mascarenhas, Wilona Castelino, Ashini Saldanha, Serah Joseph, Ayesha Umaira, Alisha, Astin, Allan and Rhea. The event concluded with the junior choir group singing the school anthem.
The school management appreciated the efforts of all Bosconians from classes 6 to 12 for their spectacular performances, making the annual day a memorable celebration.
