Teachers day celebration

‘A good teacher is like a candle; it consumes itself to light the way to others.’ Teachers are the corner stones of student’s future. They act as the foundation for creating responsible citizens and good human beings.
The day was observed invoking the blessings of God through a prayer dance by the teachers. The teachers were greeted, congratulated and blessed by the school Correspondent Very Rev Fr Denis D’Sa. In his message he reminded `that teachers play an important role in the character formation of a student. Teachers carry the great responsibility of shaping the future generation with imparting knowledge, wisdom, values and ethics of life. He brought out the model of Jesus who was and who is a great teacher.
The Principal Miss Myrtle L.F.Lewis in her address treasured the dedication, hard work and sacrifices rendered by the teachers. She further added saying that teaching is not a profession but a vocation. She applauded the teachers for switching over from conventional teaching method to technological method during the period of pandemic. She also said that a teacher should update and sharpen the axe.
Very Rev Fr Denis D’Sa cut the Birthday cake and shared his happiness on the occasion of Teachers Day. Lucky games were conducted for all the teaching and the non-teaching staff. The highlights of the day werea Tableau depicting the values of SarvapalliRadhakrishnan, the songs, dances, street play. The school management committee members, Rev Fr Nelson Peris, Asst. Parish Priest of Shirva, Vice-Principal Mrs Irene Cardoza, Rev FrRolwinAranha, Miss RoopaMascarehnas, Mrs Cynthia Pereira and Mrs ShayonaD’Almaida, the co-ordinators of different sections were present.
Mrs.Ivin D’Souza welcomed every one. Mrs NiviaD’Costa proposed vote of thanks. Mrs Philomena Barboza compeered the programme.
