Celebration of Gandhi Jayanthi

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” says Mahatma Gandhi. Two beautiful and nostalgic birthdays of Gandhiji and LalBahadhurShasthri were celebrated on 2nd October 2021 in the school. Correspondent Vey Rev Fr Denis D’Sa, Principal Miss Myrtle L.F. Lewis, Vice-Principal, section co-ordinators, teachers and student body were present to witness this memorable event conducted by scouts and guides with the help of their mentors. This historical event began with a welcome note by Miss Melisha of grade 11. Scouts and guides students conducted All Faith Prayer where the scriptures of different religion were proclaimed and prayers were offered.
Gandhiji was fond of Bhajans. The celebration became more meaningful by the singing of bhajans by the teachers. Master Winston Fernandes gave a brief introduction about the importance about father of our nation.
Even after 70 years of his death, Mahatma Gandhiji inspires masses even to this day through his vision, his teachings, his books and his writings. Students performed a street paly to focus our attention on some of the incidents from the life of Mahatma Gandhiji.In order to depict the moral values taught by Bapu, students performed skit depicting his life.
The values of truth and non-violence were the focal points in the skits. Very Rev Fr Denis D’Sa in his message inspired and gave insights from the life of Gandhiji. He highlighted truth, non-violence, simplicity as some parts of Gandhiji’s life. Secularism is the need of the hour in India. Truth, Trust and Tolerance are very essential to build a nation.
Master Anson Nazareth proposed vote of thanks. Miss Pranamya Tantry and Master Ajay D’Souza beautifully compeered the programme.
