Fit India Freedom Run 2.0

“Champions keep playing, until they get it right”. Fit India movement is a nation-wide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily life. Under the leadership of Physical Education Instructors, Physical education students of grade 11 and with the help of other faculty who worked round the clock in organizing Fit India Run.
‘To promote fitness as easy, fun and free’ which is one of the objectives FIT INDIA mission of Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva was held on 30th September 2021 at 8:45a.m. in school ground. Very Rev Fr Denis D’Sa the Correspondent of Don Bosco English Medium School and St Marys Institutions, Shirva Presided over the event. MrShrishail D Muragod, the Police Sub-Inspector of Shirva Police Station and Miss FreniReyonaMartis Assistant Manager of ICC prudential L I C Ltd were the Chief Guests of the day. Rev Fr Steven Nelson Peris, Asst. Parish Priest of Shirva, Rev FrRolwin Joy Aranha, Asstpriest of Shirva church and section coordinator of senior secondary section were also present. The event was organized under the leadership and guidance of Principal Miss Myrtle L.F. Lewis.
Miss AnjaliSreedharan welcomed the gathering. Master Elwis Rodrigues gave an overview on Fit India Freedom Run Movement. In his address the Sub-Inspector of Shirva Police station MrShrishaila D Muragod appreciated the event organized by the school. He encouraged the young minds through positive insights and not to get addicted to drugs, alcohol and other bad habits. Miss FrennyMartis the alumna of school recalled reminiscences in the same institution. In his Presidential address Very Rev Fr Denis D’Saappreciated Principal and School in organizing this event and encouragedto be fit.
Mr Sujith Shetty, Physical education director briefed the route details. The Correspondent presented mementos to the Chief guests. Master Noel Samson expressed words of gratitude. Chief Guest along with other dignitaries gave a start to the freedom run by waving the flag. Nearly 120 students and teachers participated in the freedom run. Police officials and school staff helped to conduct the freedom run peacefully. The programme was compeered by Miss Melryn Nazareth.
