Gandhi Jayanthi

Gandhiji was the anchor of India’s struggle for freedom from the British rule, while the entire nation was paying tribute to Bapu on his birth anniversary. The 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji was observed in Don Bosco English medium School, Shirva on 2nd October 2020. The day was marked by All Faith Prayer service led by the Scouts and Guides teachers of the school.
Owing to the great day, the Principal, Miss Myrtle L F Lewis, Vice-Principal and all the staff payed homage to the portrait of Gandhiji by offering flowers.
Gandhiji’s values and principles are applicable even today said the Vice-Principal Mrs Irene Cardoza. She further highlighted the value of cleanliness during this period of Covid 19. If all the citizens would join together in the cleanliness drive of India, our country would be one of the cleanest countroes in the world by now.
The Principal invited the teachers to inculcate the values and principles of Gandhiji in their lives to face the present challenges courageously. Gandhiji is the true role model for everyone. There is so much for all of us to learn from him. Things he did were impactful. We as teachers can read, learn and share his inspiring thoughts with our students. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school were present to observe this day.
