Fit India Freedom Run

As the call given by our honourable Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, FIT INDIA movement is conducting Fit India Freedom Run from 15th August 2020 to 2nd October 2020 to encourage fitness and help us all to get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases, etc. The concept behind this run is that, “It can be run anywhere any time”.
Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva organised Fit India Freedom Run on 29th September 2020 at 8:00AM in School premises. The main motto of the event was “RUNNING- the human body’s most raw form of freedom”.
The Fit India run was presided over by the Correspondent of our school, Very Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Chief Guest of the day, Mr. Sanjeeva Bovi, ASI of Shirva police station and his colleague Mr Damodar, Rev Fr. Rohan Dias, Asst Parish Priest of Shirva, members of school management committee, the Principal Miss Myrtle L. F. Lewis, teaching and non teaching staff. Principal Miss Myrtle L.F. Lewis welcomed the gathering. Mr Sujith Shetty gave the route map and guidelines for FIT INDIA RUN. Chief guest Mr Sanjeeva Bovi, ASI OF Shirva, in his address stressed the importance of fitness. He was very happy and congratulated the Correspondent, Principal and the entire staff for organising Fit India Freedom Run. Correspondent Very Rev Fr. Denis D’Sa called upon the participants to have a healthy mind in the healthy body. Recalling the Quit India Movement, he said it was a call given to drive away the Britishers from India, but Fit India is a call to drive away physical and mental ailments from our body. The chief guest and the correspondent gave a start to the Freedom Run by waving the flag. It was a 3 KM run which was winded up at the school entrance gate. Mr. Vishwanath, PET of the primary section proposed vote of thanks and Mr Jason I Castelino compeered the event.
