Republic Day Celebration

Take pride that you live in a country that has such a diverse glorious history and rich heritage.
To commemorate the date on which the constitution of India came into effect January 26, 1950. “The 72nd Republic Day” was celebrated in Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva on 26th January, 2021.
The celebration in the school pared down in terms of students’ participation because of the pandemic. Instead only hands full of students were invited to partake in the celebration. The Chief Guest of the day, Mr. Deril Melroy Menezes, the alumni of the school along with the school staff, Principal joined together to hoist the National Flag at school premises and pay respectful salute to the nation. Master Raylon D’Souza of Grade V spoke about the significance of the day.
Mr. Deril Menezes felt honored to be the Chief Guest of the day. In his speech, he said that he was proud to be a citizen of the country which ensures the fundamental rights to its citizens and called upon the gathering to remember the noble freedom struggle and their sacrifice to our country. Ms Myrtle L F Lewis, Principal, in her presidential address quoted the quotes of great personalities and invited all to instill the values of courage and confidence.
Ms. Avina Reshel D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Gayathri proposed vote of thanks. The entire programme was compeered by Mrs. Teena Sherin Mascarenhas.
