Unveiling of Statue of our Patron Don Bosco

“Do good while you still have time” – Don Bosco
The Former Correspondent and the Former Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva Rev. Fr Valerian Pinto unveiled the statue of Don Bosco at Don Bosco English Medium School, Shirva. Very Rev Fr Denis Dsa,the Correspondent of St Mary’s and Don Bosco Institutions, blessed the statue. Rev Fr Praveen DSouza,Assistant Prof., Dept of of Philosophy, St Francis de Sales College, Nagpur, Rev Fr Rolwyn Aranha, Rev Fr Nelson Peris, the Management members of the school witnessed the unveiling of the statue. Having the statue of the Patron Saint of Don Bosco at the entrance of the school was the long cherished dream of the Principal, Miss Myrtke L F Lewis. This was supported and sponsored by the students of Grade 10, 2019-20 and 2020-21 batches as a token of their gratitude towards the Alma Mater. Mrs Gretta Noronha, the class teacher motivated the students and also generously contributed to the cause. Rev Fr Praveen Dsouza, Guest of Honour called upon the students to draw inspiration from the life of Don Bosco who is a role model of youth at all times. The Chief Guest, Rev Fr Valerian Pinto was happy to see the institution is growing and requested the students to emulate the values of Don Bosco in their life. Very Rev Fr Denis Dsa thanked the students for their benevolent contribution and called upon the students to be connected with Alma Mater. He complimented the students and told them that they would be always remembered for their deed of love and gratitude. Mrs Gretta Noronha was honoured for her contribution in procuring the Statue of Don Bosco. Principal, Miss Myrtle L F Lewis, welcomed the gathering, Mrs Shyona DAlmeida, proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs Philomena Barboza compeered the programme. The SPLs of two batches Brannet Nazareth and Adrin Alva shared the stage along with the dignitaries.
